ActiveBatch Certified Automation Expert

ActiveBatch® Certified Automation Expert Designation

A user who has earned both the Developer with Operations and Administrator certifications will automatically be designated as an ActiveBatch® Certified Automation Expert. The user will retain this designation provided both certifications, and their associated training prerequisites and requirements, remain active and current.

1 Users may earn certification in multiple roles.
2 ActiveBatch Certifications are annual certifications with annual requirements for recertification; however, newly certified users are exempt from additional requirements for a 6-month period following initial certification.
3 Developer with Operations Certification encompasses all of the major topic areas of the Operator Certification.
4 Candidates who have taken ActiveBatch training courses in the past two years, whether through ActiveBatch Academy or in another manner offered by ASCI, may request exemption from the Pathways Level I training requirement by emailing training@advsyscon.com.

Initial Certification & Recertification

  • Initial certification is valid for 18 months after successful completion of training course requirements and certification exam.
  • Initial certification exempts the newly certified user from additional training requirements for a 6-month period after the certification is earned; however, we encourage certified users to continually train to stay up to date.
  • In the year that follows this 6-month period, and each year thereafter, the candidate must successfully complete a minimum of 3 Deep Dive courses with scores of 80% or better on each course’s Knowledge Review to retain certification.
Example:
  • A candidate successfully completes all required training and passes the associated certification exam on August 15, 2019.
  • There is no additional training requirement between August 15, 2019 through February 14, 2020 (6-month post-certification period).
  • Between February 15, 2020 and February 14, 2021 (the following 12 months), the certified user must complete at least 3 Deep Dive courses with scores of 80% or better on each course’s Knowledge Review to retain certification.
  • Between February 15, 2021 and February 14, 2022, and for each 12-month period thereafter, the certified user must complete 3 Deep Dive courses with scores of 80% or better on each course’s Knowledge Review to retain certification.

Certification for ActiveBatch Academy Subscribers

  • Training Subscription Users receive access to certification courses and exams as a benefit of their subscription at no additional cost. Certification courses and exams remain available to subscribers during the subscription term only. Upon the conclusion of the subscription term, the user will lose access to and any progress within its courses or exams.
  • Exam Attempts:
    • If a candidate earns a passing score on any exam attempt, the candidate will be granted the related Certificate and/or user designation, provided all other requirements have been met and the attempt is deemed valid.
    • If a candidate does not earn a passing score on any exam on the first attempt, the candidate must wait at least 14 days before retaking the exam.
    • If a candidate does not earn a passing score the second time, the candidate must wait at least 14 days before retaking the exam a third time.
    • If a candidate does not earn a passing score the third time, a 14-day waiting period is also imposed before the fourth attempt.
    • A candidate may not take a given exam more than 4 times per year (12-month period). This 12-month period starts the day of the fourth unsuccessful exam; the candidate is then eligible to retake the exam 12 months from that date.
      • To take a given exam more than 4 times per year or to have the time between attempts waived, a candidate must submit a request and obtain prior permission from Advanced Systems Concepts by emailing training@advsyscon.com. These requests should include the candidate’s name, company name, My ASCI email address, exam name, and reason for waiver.
    • If a candidate earns a passing score on an exam, the candidate cannot take the same exam again unless required due to certification lapse; there is no restriction on the same candidate taking different exams.

Certification for Non-Subscribers

  • Certification for non-subscribers works exactly the same as certification for subscribers (including waiting periods between unsuccessful exam attempts) with the following exceptions:
    • Required courses and certification exam(s) must be purchased individually.
    • The purchase of an exam provides the user 2 attempts to earn a passing score. If a candidate does not earn a passing score on an exam after the first 2 attempts, the candidate must repurchase the exam to obtain 2 additional attempts, for a total maximum of 4 possible attempts.
    • If after the fourth attempt the user does not pass the exam, the user may repurchase the exam after the 12-month waiting period.

Verifying an ActiveBatch Certification

Any individual can verify the status of an ActiveBatch Certificate by entering the Certificate’s associated email address or Certification Number in the Certification Verification Tool. Additional inquiries may be made by contacting the ActiveBatch Academy administration team at training@advsyscon.com.

Certification Lapse

If a certified user does not complete the recertification requirements within the given timeframe, the user’s certification lapses. If this occurs, the user must recomplete the initial certification requirements as outlined, including successful completion of applicable Pathways courses and certification exam. A user who initially became certified as a subscriber and no longer has subscription benefits can recertify, similarly to non-subscribers, by purchasing and successfully completing the required Deep Dive courses.

Rules and Regulations

If a candidate violates any testing rule or exam policy or engages in any misconduct that diminishes the security and integrity of the ActiveBatch Certification Program in any way, the candidate may be permanently prohibited from taking any future ActiveBatch Certification exams. In addition, the candidate may be decertified from the ActiveBatch Certification Program, and test scores and certifications may be revoked. These decisions will be made at the sole discretion of Advanced Systems Concepts.

Examples of such misconduct include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Looking up question information, using an unauthorized device (including electronic devices and cell phones), or looking at notes, product documentation, or knowledgebase resources during a certification exam.
  • Providing or accepting assistance during a certification exam.
  • Falsifying identity or impersonating another individual for the purpose of meeting training course requirements or obtaining a passing score on any certification exam.
  • Copying, publishing, disclosing, transmitting, posting, screenshotting, printing, saving, or distributing any course or exam content, questions, or answers.
  • Modifying or translating any exam in any form for any purpose.
  • Tampering with the exam platform, website, infrastructure, or delivery mechanisms in any form for any purpose.
  • Violating the exam retake policy.
