Today's IT environment consists of multiple servers, both physical and virtual, platforms, and a wide range of applications. Using ActiveBatch®, organizations have benefited using a centralized approach in synchronizing resources, where appropriate, into one easy to use scalable framework.

ActiveBatch provides a single point of scheduling using embedded templates for various job types such as:

  • Process Jobs (exe, scripts, etc.)
  • FTP / SFTP/ FTPS
  • E-Mail Jobs
  • File System Operations (Create, Copy, Delete folders, Files, and more)
  • Embedded Script Jobs-scripts from all scripting languages stored in ActiveBatch

ActiveBatch's flexible job step functionality, from our Built-in Jobs Library, relieves the user from having to write and maintain scripts while allowing the IT staff to manage workflows in a consistent manner. Unlike other Enterprise Job Scheduling offerings, ActiveBatch's Built-in Jobs Library is included with each system and does not require the licensing of costly adapters and additional support costs no matter how often the job library is used in your workflows.

When it comes time to execute the job or plan, the ActiveBatch job scheduler will execute the operation on the desired machine and return the exit status. ActiveBatch provides a robust event driven system as well as triggers based on the more traditional Date/Time.

ActiveBatch generates log files, across all platform types, containing the jobs output information that can be viewed from within ActiveBatch while the job is executing or after completion. This centricity gives organizations the ability to do more, simpler and faster, without having to write complicated scripts or access multiple machines.

ActiveBatch reporting supports the transactional database that comprises the executing ActiveBatch system presenting information in a list format. Reports are easily configured and offer sorting and date range flexibility.

Also provided is an ActiveBatch OLAP Reporting database as a separate high speed database. A cube and series of built-in reports are available (in both SQL Server Reporting and Crystal Reports) to report on data in both list and graphical form. An ActiveBatch ETL job is run nightly (the schedule can be customized) to extract previous instance data from the transactional to the OLAP database.
