Enterprise Batch SchedulingBatch Scheduling In Today’s Heterogeneous IT Environments:
ActiveBatch® Enterprise Job Scheduling provides “Batch Scheduling” capabilities for
Microsoft Windows systems, UNIX, Linux and OpenVMS. ActiveBatch supports, coordinates
and controls workflows that span systems, diverse platforms while working to support
the needs for Business Process Automation in an expanding global IT Infrastructure.
Batch Scheduling has been a long time requirement for IT environments since Mainframe systems have been implemented. Executing, synchronizing and monitoring thousands of jobs each and everyday for more than forty years is no longer required of just Mainframes but for all systems. Today, batch or interactive jobs must run on more than a single system with minimal operator interaction and a without the use of a Job Control Language to control the logic of workflows. ActiveBatch includes a Job Library that contains pre built functions such as DTS / SSIS packages and for Oracle blocks, as well as additional libraries that enable Secure FTP, file operations (move, copy, etc.), iteration, and ZIP, just to name a few. These functions are integral to the majority of enterprise-based jobs and applications. ActiveBatch removes the scripting requirement, thereby reducing errors, and allowing for developers to focus in areas other than script creation for these types of jobs. ActiveBatch has been tested to support the connection for up to two thousand servers and submit up to a million jobs per day. Jobs and applications can be triggered using traditional Date and Time Scheduling, or by events or simply the completion of predecessor jobs using built in conditional logic to ensure that jobs complete on time and without errors. The ActiveBatch “Virtual Root” capability allows the power of the ActiveBatch Job Scheduler to be shared by users, departments or divisions in a private mode that ensures that your workflows and jobs are not visible, remain secure and private from unauthorized access or possible modifications. Learn how ActiveBatch Enterprise Job Scheduling and Event Automation, regardless of environments, numbers of systems, helps you to reduce complexity, improve integration of workflows, while allowing for improved service levels and a lower cost of operations. |
