"It's [ActiveBatch] very clever in the way it
leverages distributed and bridge computing
environments. It can actually replace the need
for dedicated server farms. ... We find that
with ActiveBatch, the sky is often the limit."

- Richard Webb, Baringa Partners

ActiveBatch® Scheduling In Today's Heterogeneous IT Environments:

ActiveBatch Job Scheduling Architecture ActiveBatch job scheduling makes available advanced batch scheduling for Windows, UNIX, Linux, OpenVMS systems while also executing Mainframe jobs with applications and scripts. ActiveBatch integrates disparate workflows that span diverse platforms while working to support the increasing needs for improving business process automation results in an expanding IT Infrastructure.

Batch scheduling has been a long time approach to addressing IT requirements since the introduction of the Mainframe. Executing, synchronizing and monitoring thousands of jobs each and every day with reliability and cost effectiveness remains a requirement for today's environments, distributed as well as Mainframe. ActiveBatch's approach is a centralized automation strategy that simplifies the development of "end to end" workflows across include platforms, applications and databases.

Today's batch scheduling workloads require that jobs on one system can trigger workflows in other environments using minimal operator interaction and a without the requirement for a Job Control Language to control the logic of workflow scheduling.

ActiveBatch scheduling includes a Built-in Jobs Library that contains templated functions such as DTS / SSIS packages and for Oracle blocks, as well as additional libraries that enable Secure FTP, file operations (move, copy, etc.), iteration, and ZIP, just to name a few. These functions are integral for any organization utilizing enterprise-based scripts, plans and/or applications. Via capabilities like the Jobs Library, ActiveBatch removes the scripting requirement thereby reducing errors and allowing for automation workflow designers to easily add powerful ActiveBatch functions such as Check Pointing, Restarts, Failover, Monitoring, Alerting, Constraints and Dependencies to applications for improved performance and reliability.

ActiveBatch batch scheduling has been tested to support the connection for up to two thousand servers and submission of over one million jobs per day. Scripts, Tasks, Plans and applications can be triggered using our Event Architecture, Date and Time triggers, or simply the completion of predecessor steps using built in conditional logic to ensure that each submission completes on time and without errors.

The ActiveBatch "Virtual Root" capability allows the power of ActiveBatch Scheduling to be shared by users, departments, divisions, or even external customers in a private mode that ensures that your workflows and plans are not visible while remaining secure and private from unauthorized access or possible modifications.

Learn how ActiveBatch batch scheduling advanced automation capabilities, regardless of environments, or numbers of systems, helps you to reduce complexity, improve integration of workflows, while allowing for improved service levels and a lower cost of operations. ActiveBatch is the leading solution in providing you with the capabilities to implement reliable "end to end" workflows across systems with documented financial performance that you can count on!
