The ActiveBatch
® Change Management system synchronizes and manages
objects, in a controlled and systematic fashion, across different ActiveBatch environments
such as TEST, QA and PRODUCTION to ensure a highly reliable and error free approach
to moving workflows from one environment to the other.
ActiveBatch's Change Management system incorporates a graphical interface for detecting
object differences and then indicating what level of synchronization should be performed.
By comparing objects and highlighting each of the differences between the various
objects including jobs, plans, systems, user accounts, etc. the various levels of
management are involved as they move from development to production. Using a visual
approach in comparing objects, ActiveBatch allows the designer to accept or exclude
each of the changes, handle exceptions and transform the objects names to ensure
as they navigate the different environments ensuring that they execute with precision
in their new environment.
The objects that are selected to be synchronized are referred to as a "Change Set".
That Change Set can then be presented to management for their review and approval.
The Change Set synchronization itself can be scheduled from within ActiveBatch (for
example, updating your production system on a weekend or other non-peak period).
Objects that are migrating from one environment to another also support transformations
in which "environment" required changes can also be applied to the migrating object
(for example, imposing new security or other environment based property changes).
The ActiveBatch Change Management system is an integral part of the ActiveBatch
system and is included with the Job Scheduler so every enterprise, when using ActiveBatch,
can improve service levels by reducing the costs and delays associated with errors
during the life cycles associated with developing, testing and updating end to end
workflows across systems and objects with reliability.
