"Whenever there are problems, we don't have to spend as much time researching it; ActiveBatch tells us the exact place the problem occurred. Using the GUI, we can go in and look at the log to see what the error messages are and correct the underlying problem. In a lot of cases, we can fix problems and users won't even know there was a problem."

Flexible, Customizable Alerting
A powerful and flexible alerting system is an integral part of any automation solution and is critical for operational success. IT Operations needs to be notified immediately when a job failure or issue arises, and timely alerting is critical to ensuring the issue is noticed and dealt with quickly. ActiveBatch provides highly customizable alerting and monitoring capabilities to help organizations improve workload execution and reduce the risk of missed SLAs.

Proactively Prevent Job Failures with Support for Dozens of Alerts and Delivery Methods
ActiveBatch supports over 30 different alerts and alert objects that are used to notify users and operations when a specified condition has been raised within a workflow. Each alert is deliverable using over a dozen different delivery methods that include email, JMS, Microsoft Message Queues, SMS text, Twitter, SNMP, Skype, and more.

ActiveBatch alert objects simplify the management of alerts by allowing multiple alerts to be contained with an alert object. The alert object can then be associated with multiple jobs or plans so that multiple alerts are delivered from the job, to the alert object, and then distributed to the various alerts contained within the object. Additionally, any modification to the alert object will automatically update all of the associated jobs or plans, simplifying maintenance for IT Operations. There are no limitations on the amount of alerts a job can have.

Additionally, users can trigger workflows based on an alert condition so that other workflows take different branches based on the condition raised, proactively preventing job failures. ActiveBatch also supports custom messages and subjects for alerts, using ActiveBatch variables and log files to ensure that information about the job and information is presented.

Reduce the Risk of SLA Breaches with Powerful Monitoring Capabilities
In addition to specific IT-related events, ActiveBatch supports the monitoring and alerting of workflows whose completions are tied to a Service Level Agreement (SLA) or business policy. Workflow developers can select from a series of alert notifications to notify users of an impending SLA breach and select the appropriate action.

For example, users can set various alert "thresholds" such as Warning, Critical, or Take Action, that provide a user with different alerts that notify users of a potential workflow breach to an SLA. Additionally, ActiveBatch supports alerts for "Absolute" and "Relative" deadlines, allowing workflows to be tied to specific date/time and business deadlines.
